Kalispell: A detour to Flathead Lake (day 61)

24 July 2008

It wasn’t really necessary but I took a detour to see what Flathead Lake was like and what a pleasant surprise that was. The journey there took me down the Flathead Valley through golden coloured cereal fields and cows grazing by the fresh pine trees. I wanted to go for another swim but the they way the houses were built at Somers didn’t allow for it, and could only admire it from a distance.

At Kalispell I checked out the local bike shop to change the pedals (they’re worn out), by good fortune the owner had the same model as those fitted to the bike and because they were slightly used made me an offer which worked out at less than half of what I payed for in the UK (so a bargain!). I may go back there tomorrow morning to see if he can replace the bottom bracket, which will give me a noise free ride.
